After upgrading to Nikon Capture 1.1 I have started to get a fine black vertical line in the upper left corner of 8 bit tiff files created by a batch conversion of horizontal D2X NEF raw files. Not all resulting tiff files in a batch will exhibit the problem but about 50% will. Seems to be only horizontals all verticals process fine.
I can take any single NEF open it in NX then do a Save As to an 8 bit tiff and the line will not be produced. If I then open a second NEF and do the same Save As it will often have the issue. I can then exit and restart NX open the NEF that just produced the issue do a Save As and it will be fine.
Take the same images to Capture 4 and they all batch process fine. Used Capture NX 1.0.1 for a long time and never had the issue.
This is a Windows XP-Pro box. Anyone else using NX 1.1?
