The title says it all, really. Has anyone tried this gadget? Does it work? I've read the reviews, but I'd like some feedback from someone who has used, rather than just fiddled with, it.

Thanks

Iv'e used one for around a year now. Much better color accuracy than Adobe gamma hehe. My work enviroment has very variable lighting conditions which is the main reason I went with the Huey. Have used it both with crt and lcd monitors. It seems to calibrate the crt easier/better beacause there are some visual checks for setting the brightness/contrast. On lcd mode you don't get the extra visual checks and I have just made arbitrary settings and made prints until my results matched well enough for me. There may still be a little room for improvement. It seems I have brightness around 50% and contrast around 75%.

I'm sure the Huey is looked down upon compared to other calibration equipment, but has worked for me.

I work in a retail camera store, and we use Huey on our print kiosks, they work pretty slick for keeping on top of the changing lighting enviroment of our "print lounge" (we have pretty big windows nearby).  For uber-cheap I'd say it's better than nothing, but I like Monaco EZ/Color Optix for relatively inexpensive Monitor-Scanner-Printer calibration.

My 2cents.

cheers,

Not as good as an I One or Monaco but better than a spyder.
