Best stitching software (OsX) for panoramic pics

Hello all together,

a friend of my former assistant showed me an amazing software program for stitching multiple files horizontal and vertical together for panoramic and other uses. It corrects quite good different exposures and works in 16bit.

Hell, I can't remember the name of it, but I know it was not some mainstream application...!

My former assitant is not answering the phone, ( he is on holidays, doesn't hate me or so) and I have no idea how to reach this guy for infos.

Anybody?!

I can't categorically say it is the best but I think it is very good.

PT Mac is the app i use when I do Stitching in osx, Highly recomended.

Think you can download a fully workable demo version ( 15 days trial or something)

How about Calico? It's a basic application and you can check it out [a href=\"http://kekus.com/]here[/url] (same company as PT Mac mentionned above).

If you are going to upgrade to PS CS3, you might find the new PS stitch plugin adequate. It is far superior to the earlier PS merge plugin.

PTgui, my favourite stitching package for PC is now available on Intel Mac.

After comparing it thoroughly with Stitcher 5.0 (I have a license too), my conclusion is that PTgui - although it is 7 times cheaper - leaves Stitcher in the dust no questions asked for high quality panos for print. Stitcher is better for VR Quicktime panos etc... It also has some neat auto-stitch features for flat panos.

I currently have 4 PTgui panos on display in a photo exhibition in Tokyo (width is 1 meter or 3 feet) assembled from D2x/Mamiya ZD images, and the quality is impossible to distinguish from 4x5 with absolutely seemless stitches.

I have a hard time imagining what another package could do better than PTgui in terms of image quality, features (from totally automated stitches to manual points definition), ease of use and stability (not a single crash in over 100 heavy stitches - up to 2GB 16 bits files). I would not want to waste time with a lesser software.
