No! Well, you can check your framing but the LCD is not color managed and is not a reliable way to judge exposure (you do that via the histogram), focusing accuracy etc... This is valid not only for the Rebel line but also for all (or almost) other currently shipping DLSRs.

Yes of course you can.  It's quite a large jpg that the LCD displays, it's a nice large LCD, and you can zoom in a good bit to check focus.  And you can use the histogram for better evaluation of exposure.

Much as I hate to say it — and rarely do — I think this is really a RTFM question.
