Mamiya ZD noise reduction
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:09:04 am »

Mamiya ZD offeres the option of noise reduction to be performed in the camera at the time of capture. I was wondering if anybody was able to determine or find out from Mamiya whether such noise reduction is achieved with dark frame subtraction or via some other methods. Feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I think its just klutzy basic NR applied to jpegs, so it won't affect raw files.  Having said that, I have not tried it with mine (i) because I don't, ever, shoot jpeg with my ZD and (ii) there are better options available in post production.

hi
Does that mean that you shoot with NR turned off in camera and use NR only in silky pix?
