Fine Art Sales Outlets
« on: January 29, 2007, 10:44:46 am »

I'm looking for inputs on where people are selling their fine art work. The outlets that immediately come to mind are galleries, art fairs, and online web sales. Are there any other less obvious outlets? Of the three I mentioned - galleries, art fairs, and web sales - which produces the most sales? I realize that these questions are oversimplified and overgeneralized, but I'm looking for basic views on these sorts of things. I'm thinking about taking early retirement in a couple of years so I can pursue my avocation more seriously. I won't need to make any money off of photography, but it would still be nice if I could subsidize my equipment habit :-)

Thanks.

I can't speak from personal experience (though the concept has always interested me!), but here is some info and related materials for folks doing fine art sales.
