P25 add'l batteries
« on: January 29, 2007, 12:02:45 am »

just bought a P25, and i need more batteries. batt that came with it is 7.2v 2500Mamps. i understand from electronics, that the voltage is absolutely needed for the back to function, but there is some, some leeway on the amps. less amps= less time charge is held.

my question, is what brand batts do you have andd what are their specs for both volts and amps?
i am hoping that a batt with more amps will give longer battery life but dont want to damage the back.

also, will buying 3rd part batts void its warentee?

thanks

Hi
I was just looking for a few extra batteries for my ZD which takes cam recorder ones. Check this site out and as long as the voltage is the same you should not have a problem. Make sure the battery is excatly the same.
http://stores.ebay.com/Battery-Wholesale-Distributors

For example this battery will work in the ZD....http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290067655888&rd=1&rd=1

There are many other stores.

Thanks Denis

Michael, I also use the P25.   as far as warranties I would think since Phase One is using a third party battery to begin with that this would have nothing to do with the warranty (although be sure that you use the battery recomended for the back i.e. canon typ bp 911 or 915 etc.).

I have purchased numerous third party (cheap) batteries on ebay and most have been a real disapointment, especially in cold weather.  The best results for me have been genuine Canon brand batteries.  Although I have been purchasing maH batteries from Thomas Batteries and am quite pleased (up to now only the AA batteries with 2700 maH).  I just ordered two batteries that will fit the Phase P25 for Canon  BP911 and hope I get the same results with those.

The above is a link to where I purchase the maH batteries

Indeed, a battery with a higher capacity rating (not Amps per se; rather, Ah, or Ampere hours, and typically expressed as mAh for small batteries) will give longer life per charge and won't damage the back.
