Photo Scanners
« on: January 26, 2007, 06:18:55 pm »

I'm looking to get a new scanner and it appears the Epson Perfection V750-M Pro is the one I'd like.  Before I jump off the bridge and order it thouhgt I'd ask around here if anyone has any experience - good - bad - indifferent?

Thanks in advance

I have been through virtually all the consumer scanners from Nikon (8000 to Canon (9950f), Microtek (1800f) and Epson (3200,4870, 4990 and now  V750-M Pro). What are you scanning and for what kind of output?

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but since you have experience with many consumer scanners, I'm looking for a scanner for medium format negative film printing to inkjet output, typically around 16"x20" but occasionally up to 20"x30" printed on a Lightjet or  a Chromira, mostly color. I've presently got the Epson 4870, and I would rate it as "OK". I'd like to get more dynamic range and more accurate detail in general. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

- Thanks, Dave
