It was becoming such a good resource for finding porn sites
It's sad to see it not working
I guess we'll have to hope that LL gets more Russian brides posting soon to fill the void left by Phase One's user forum.

I would love to know why the Phase One forum has been targeted for porn spam.  I would think it's a little off the radar.

It doesn't matter how far off the radar you are, you will be found and probed by those criminals. When they find it is doable to use you for their spam they will. It is sad but reality.

Do you know if the Russian brides available through PhaseOne were
the standard issue or the newer +series.

Was there an affordable upgrade path :>))

No extra cost up front but very expensive to replace with a future upgraded model.

That's what I was afraid of.

With that in mind it is imperative that one gets to test the product before
making a committment of this magnitude.

Excessive noise would definitely be a major problem  :>))

It would be naive to believe that the site was closed down only on account of spam.

The Phase One forum allowed users to directly and publicly engage with Phase.  There was a Phase one moderator to whom you could direct your questions and complaints.

This was a courageous move that signalled to the market that Phase had nothing to hide and was not afraid of being publicly challenged by its users.  It made sense as Phase was building a brand name and market share, but now that Phase is the market leader, this type of openness has become a liability.

I was an early P45 user and went to the forum when I could not get good answers from their technical support team regarding lens cast.  Since direct contact with Phase technicians was not allowed, I had to talk to my dealer who would then talk to the Phase technician, who did not even acknowledge the problem.

The forum gave me a chance not only to get great advice from other users on how to cope with lens cast, but also to openly and publicly challenge Phase regarding this problem.

The conspiracy theorist in me says that Phase has closed the forum to avoid similar public questions/challenges about its new line of products about to be released.

But I hope Phase will prove me wrong and reopen the forum.

if you've been on the phase forum site with any regularity you would know that the phase forum was getting more and more spam. when they brought the forum back after new years, on the very first day it was brought back, it had spam in several, if not all of the recent postings. the phbb bulleting open software is notorious for attacting spammers. phase will have to change their forum software if they want to continue with a forum. i'm sure they'll do something to bring back a forum. when i first started using phase backs and contacted them via email, they strongly encouraged me to post on their forum rather than email them directly.

I certainly hope you are right.

My own humble opinion is that Phase should get closer to its users -- give more advice and get more feedback.  I have never been a fan of Phase's support system, which basically delegates this important responsibility to dealers.

The system works if your back fails and you need a new one.  In that case, Phase and its dealers are responsive.  But the system does not work when it comes to the subtler interactions between users and the manufacturer.  That aspect of support is just as important considering that this is a product at the cutting edge of technology.

You have to make a support case for every question or problem and submit it to the dealer with raw examples.  The images have to be on a cd, so you have to mail it to your dealer who has to mail it to Phase.  After some time, you will get a cryptic response and give up.

Perhaps the forum going down is an opportunity for revamping the whole system.

boghb,
that has not been my experience. in fact, quite the contrary. i had an issue that the forum did not clarify so i opened a support ticket, uploaded the files in question and got back a reply the very next day. the problem was brought to the attention of a high level support person and we went back and forth over a week regarding this issue. i even got a call from this support person which totally surprised me. although i like my dealer, i never discuss subtle issues with them. i go directly to the phase people. i've not yet been disappointed.
