What the deal with white lines?
« on: January 13, 2007, 02:16:48 pm »

I'm on 2400, never had problem with vertical white lines, but suddenly, with on BW image in particualr, in the black area getting this lot. Seems to go away with a print alignment, but pops back, is this a common problem? any way to lick it?

YEah, I do the nozzle first, and it's definitly alignament, the manaul describes those white lines as an alignment issue as well.

Ok just tried again and it came back in full force, after seemingly gone away for one test, so i'm whiped out on this issue as both nozzle check/ clean and alignment does not seem to solve it

If the alignment fixes it temporarily it sounds like there is a mechanical issue.  Time to call epson.

what strange is it's only happening so far of just this one file, but it's a real stickler on this file:

The printer is basically, new, maybe 100 prints have passed through. I can't imagine it's ready for repair.

This is not a printer problem.
If it is only apparent with this file, that alone rules out the printer.
If it was the printer the problem would appear on other prints as well.

My guess is a corruption in the file itself. as I said, A GUESS since it does not appear every time.
Have you tried other papers? It could be a paper problem. Another guess but stranger things have happened to me.

I'm sorry I have no solid answers for you, but areas to consider.
