Light Meter Advice needed

Can anyone give me a recommendation for a good lightmeter? It would be mainly used for landscape photography. I have never owned one before and will be using it with my new (unmetered) MF gear, so it needs to be relatively easy to use and not too expensive.

Would appreciate any help.

I use an old Minolta Flashmeter 4 w/spot attachment.  It provides flash exposures, incident exposures and reflected spot.  It wasn't cheap 15-20 years ago, but they must be nearly free now, used.  It works just fine and just as well as it did new.

I like my Sekonic L508 although its no longer a current model.  Dead on accurate and has been in my bag for 5 years.

I'll throw in another loving vote for the Sekonic L-508 -- mine has never let me down and has endured some pretty harsh treatment as well over the years.

The only small quibble I've ever managed to have with it is that it doesn't display the spot-meter reading in the viewfinder, which is a bit awkward at times..

That said, I only began to have that little quibble when I borrowed a friend's slightly newer Sekonic for a quick exposure check and saw that it did show the reading in the viewfinder  

Can't remember what model # that one was off the top of my head, but I think it might have been the very next one they released as he was inspired to buy it after borrowing mine. Lovely meters.

I still love my Pentax digital spot meter.

It has fallen into a river and a pond this year, but still works perfect, a real workhorse.

I've used a Sekonic L-508 since it came out years ago.  Its accurate and reliable, even in extreme temperatures or when handled roughly.  If I were buying a meter today, I'd look at the L-758 with built-in Pocket Wizard interface for digital triggering and the ability to calibrate to the cameras you use.

Yes, that Pocket Wizard interface is a great feature. I agree.
