I'll throw in another loving vote for the Sekonic L-508 -- mine has never let me down and has endured some pretty harsh treatment as well over the years.
The only small quibble I've ever managed to have with it is that it doesn't display the spot-meter reading in the viewfinder, which is a bit awkward at times..
That said, I only began to have that little quibble when I borrowed a friend's slightly newer Sekonic for a quick exposure check and saw that it did show the reading in the viewfinder
Can't remember what model # that one was off the top of my head, but I think it might have been the very next one they released as he was inspired to buy it after borrowing mine. Lovely meters.
