two issues with this message. One it is in the wrong forum. Second, the link is dated Sept of 2006 which was before the last major photo show. Since that show has come and passed and no announcement, one can safely suggest that the rumour was a rumour.
Yes the 5D will be replaced, possibly this year, possibly not. All technology is temporary.
