I'm afraid I can't offer the objective, honest critique you are asking for, because this subject is one of my own favorites. If you look at my web gallery (see link below my signature), go to the 2004 New England School of Photography, Black and White section and you will see that nine of my images are of pavement, including one "Stop" sign. Mine are B&W instead of color, and I have mostly done drips of tar that were put down to patch cracks in the pavement, but I like to include stripes, manholes, drains, etc., when they seem to fit in. My avatar is one of those, too.
I like yours a lot, and I think it's a great subject. I'm sure you'll find lots more to add to your collection. Thanks for sharing. I've bookmarked your site so I can check out the rest of your work when I have some time.
