accessing plugins in PSCS3 beta....
« on: December 15, 2006, 12:22:10 pm »

I've installed the beta (like it BTW--ACR is quite like the develop module in LR which is what I was hoping).  I gave my PSCS2 serial number to get a 'temp' serial number to install it.  All went well--Bridge is setup also and working fine--haven't had time to judge if its faster, etc., but.....I can't access my plugins.  I went to preferences, browsed for my PSCS2 plugin folder--and it asks for your legacy PS serial number.  I used my own number--same one I gave them to get the temp number to install---and it tells me its an invalid number.  So--has anyone tried this and knows the trick??

new---though it wouldn't accept my serial number, it evidently accessed my plugins, because on the second boot, they are all there and working just fine.  By the third boot--its much faster.  Strange, but I'll accept it---VERY fast opening and I love ACR--like LR, which I'll probably now uninstall since all I use is the develop module.  I've been a C1/RSP user but have grown to really like the LR develop module--and here it all is in PS--can you tell I'm smiling??

Thanks Jeff.  I had found that on your Photoshop site---but I'm on a PC---and on the second boot it found them all (even though it didn't like my serial number)and they are all working just fine--had to have my PKS for one thing.  Love it so far---everything I like about LR---and then some, so LR beta will probably be uninstalled since I end up in PS anyhow, print from PS and Qimage, use Imatch for database.  I think the PS folks came up with a really terrific one this time.

BTW--on the third boot, it was even faster opening--but I"ll take it.  Really fast for all I've done so far too.

Between the new beta and my 3800 being delivered ---I'm in digital heaven this week LOL.

Jeff

If you check back in I've also noted a couple of small quirks,or perhaps user error,
with Bridge.
The 'Loupe' does not seem to be accessible from what i can determine and vertical 1DsMkll
images do not display in the preview window of Bridge while horizontals do.

User error ?? or known issues?   Is there a forum set up yet like Lightroom to report
issues

I ran a benchmark on my PC comparing CS2 to CS3 -- end result was a 20% increase in speed in CS3.  Not too shabby

BTW, I had a glitch on mine when moving pallettes to my second display -- any that touched the top of the display field while I was dragging them blanked out and wouldn't come back(!)  I had to reset them to default and start all over.  I'm running PC XPPro.

FWIW,

"Updated" meaning "updated for Intel by the manufacturer of each plug-in"?
