Tetons in Jan Good choice?
« on: December 12, 2006, 10:02:33 am »

Am planning a trip probably first/second week of Jan.
Are the Tetons a good choice for this time of year?   (I know fall is the most popular).  and are the sites to shoot accessible (snow coverage on roads etc.)

It wil be very cold with lots of snow.  Many places to go will not be available due to snow.  Jackson is a ski resort so expect crowds.

With cross country skis or snowshoes you can still access sites off the main road.  In fact you'll find dramatic scenery waiting at the end of each trek and few, if any people.  Without aids for traveling on snow, you're likely to be frustrated.
