i would like to be PHOTO EDITOR

Hello,
I know that LL is mostly about landscape and fine art  photography, but anyway I will try it here.  

I would like to apply for position PHOTOEDITOR in national newspapers.
I have experiences as photojournalist and minilab printer but not as a photoeditor.
As i would like to be prepare as much as possible I would like to ask you for a help with some links/resources or/and if you work in press or best directly as photoeditor for some information, advice etc.
