I'm using an Epson 4000 with the ColorBurst RIP that was included as part of the bundle... I've been considering the upgrade to the ColorBurst X-Proof... especially since they are running a special for $299 (listed on the front page of the ColorBurst website).
Has anyone used it... and if so, what do you think of it.

The upgrade to the full version will get you these new features:
1) The ability to use non-Epson papers, with lots of environments and profiles available on the Colorburst Web site.
2) The ability to create your own ICC profiles using the embedded profiler (based on high-end Monaco profiling software). All you need to do this is a spectrophotometer like an X-Rite Pulse or Gretag MacBeth iOne Pro.
3) Print Certification
Otherwise the print quality is the same, and the interface is more or less the same. Given the above points, the $299 upgrade price is a great deal.
