Dear All,

My name is Thierry Hagenauer. I am Sinar's Sales Manager for Asia, Pacific and Middle East.

After having followed since a few weeks different topics and read some of the posts in LL, I have found that having somebody to give advices and information about the Sinar products, and also to be able to correct sometimes some misunderstandings and wrong information given about Sinar products would be appropriate.

You will therefore "see" me from now on, intervening or posting whenever I feel it necessary, or when specifically asked a question, under the user name "thsinar", although not officially appointed by and in the name or on behalf of Sinar AG, but as an individual and with the knowledge and agreement of my management.

I would like also to point out that I do not have any special agenda on this discussion forum but to try to speak honestly about the products I have been and still am using, without deforming or giving wrong information. It is not at all my intention to denigrate or speak bad in any way about other brands represented here.

Also, as a sales manager and responsible for many countries, I am obviously not able to be online 24/24, 7/7, and thus sometimes unable to answer immediately.

Also, I do not pretend to know it all and therefore would like to seek the understanding and patience of all here if sometimes I need to get the information directly from Sinar or elsewhere.

I hope that I could be of help for some of you here and am in any case at your disposal to try to help.

My background:

1980 - 1990: commercial photographer in Strasbourg, France.
Since June 1990 and until July 2003: LF Workshops and Seminars Responsible at Sinar AG Switzerland, Sales Manager Asia, Pacific and Middle East since 1995.

My details and contacts are following :

SINAR AG

Sales Manager Asia - Pacific - Middle East

All the best to all,
Thierry

hi thierry,

good to have you here, as i feel there is in general a good response to the direct presence of someone of the manufactors,-  for various questions which appear....
and good to say here in the forum hello to you as a friend,  who supported my shooting in bangkok in an absoulte  great way, by far more than i could have had expected by any "sales manager".....

best regards from munich, wish i would be in bangkok too, right now.

Bienvenu, Thierry.

If there is a package deal with the e22 or any promotion concerning the e22, please let us know. I know there are a few people in this forum, including me, who are interested in the products but are not finding the dealers very helpful (with a few exceptions).

Thierry,
Hi.

It is fairly easy to get hold of refurbished phase one backs and also leaf ones.
What is the situation with sinar refurbished backs such as the e-22...availability, rough pricing etc?

Is this something that need to be asked through my local sinar distributer here in the u.k. or can information be got from yourself?

Thanks,

Marc

Welcome Thierry !

Thank you for coming here !

We'll sniff at you a bit before we start biting, don't worry !

All of us here are looking forward very much to the new Sinar Hy6  camera. Those of us who saw it at Photokona have been very impressed.  Do you have any commercial or technical details you would like to release at this point ?

Even though I have absolutely minimal experience on medium format (apart from 5 frames on a 70's Zeiss-Ikon pocket 7x9) and not being a medium-formatter myself, I must express my gratitude for getting people at photography-related companies to more or less officially represent themselves and answer questions.

I hope this trend would spread to other companies aswell, such as Nikon and Canon.

Welcome.

Thank you Graham!

Yes, I have been reading about you looking for such a package. May I ask in which country you are based?

Basically such packages are available in each country, as well with the eMotion 22 as with the 75, the 54M and the 54H.

Pls. let me know so that I can forward to the right sales manager.

Best regards,
Thierry

Dear Marc,

Thanks for your request. Please note that there are currently not such refurbished backs from Sinar. I will however discuss this at Sinar since I feel like you that the demand for such lower priced MF backs is high. Hopefully we will be able to propose something starting next year.

hi Edmund,

I have been noticing that you are very active here, and largely contribute to the discussions. Thanks for the welcome.

As for the new coming Hy6, there is nothing much I can say at this stage which was not said and which is not already known by you guys here:

- the introduction of this camera will be within the 2nd quartal of 2007
- Sinar will distribute and sell it through its own traditional sales channels worldwide (as well as ALL professional Rollei MF cameras and equipment from the today called cie. "Franke & Heidecke")
- it will be an "open" camera system
- the Hy 6 accepts all exisiting lenses and almost all accessories from the 6008 serie
- there are already packages available from our distributors

- for technical information I can send a brochure offline to anybody contacting me at my email address below

Best regards

I'm in Estonia (where there is no Sinar dealer).

Helga Frorath already put me onto the Swedish dealer who told me he had a used e22 back and would call back the next day, but didn't. A week later I sent a reminder email but never heard from him again.

Thierry,

It's good to see a Sinar representative on board here.

I have a couple of questions for you. I am a little unclear on the additional hardware requirements for Live Video. Is an LCD shutter required? Can Live Video be enabled for all Sinar backs? And I'm definitely looking for refurbished backs with full warranty and upgrade options!

Also, with the renewed interest in shift only cameras for architecture, is Sinar likely to bring out an updated version of the Handy?

Cheers,
Kumar

hi Kumar,

All Sinarbacks, with the exception of the eMotion 22 & 75 yet (feasibility checks and implementation in process), have the live-video feature included, without any additional price.

Although Live-Video can be activated and works without LC shutter, this is required for achievement of a peffect live image, when using the SB 54M, 54H, and the older SB 44 (Kodak sensors). With the SB 23 L, 23 H, 43 L, 43 H (Phlipps/Dalsa sensors) a good live image can be obtained without LC shutter.

Refurbished backs: as posted a little while ago, Sinar is checking currently the feasibility and introduction of such offers starting next year.

We do not have any plans currently to update the Sinar Handy. It might be worth for you, although not the same, to have a look on our Sinar f3, a light design for digital photography on location: detailled information and brochure can be downloaded from www.sinarcameras.com

I hope this answers your questions.

Thierry,
I'm curious about the EyeLike Precision M22 with either the 6008AF/Hy6 and/or p3:
? Will the upcoming software support the M22 with Rollei and Schneider electronic shutters?  Will faster than i.s.o.25 be available on the M22?
? It would be nice to be able to configure-to-order a p3 with a wide angle bellows and geared rail clamp just like I'm able to configure an Apple Mac Pro tower.
? Will the Rollei 6000 lens adapter fit onto a p3 lens board?
Thank you,
Billy

Thierry:

Good to see you here. When you say "open system", does that mean one could put a Leaf Aptus, Phase One P series or Hasselblad CF digital back on it with the appropriate adapter? And if yes, then assuming that they themselves would likely produce the adapter? Is more cooperation than that needed, and if so, is it forthcoming?

Thanks,
