Anyone know if the Epson 3800 will have a driver for OSX PowerPC?

Why wouldn't it? Epson seems to have been quite good about posting new & updated drivers. I'm sure there will be both Intel and PPC drivers. I doubt we'll see any OS 9 drivers though!

The Epson website says Universal Binary with no mention of PPC, so it seems uncertain at this point.

Um, a "universal" binary is for both architectures.  So if the Epson website says a universal binary, the only question in my mind would be what versions of OS/X it supports.

To the contrary, universal binary means exactly that, a universal installer for both legacy PPC and current Intel processors.

The Epson 3800 pamphlet, available on-line, says you have to have 10.4.7 or higher.

I was confused, too, by the "universal binary" designation, thinking it meant the driver had been written only for Intel Macs.  But I was told - as above - that it'll work on both G & Intel Macs.

From the Epson site-

Operating Systems Supported:
Macintosh OS X 10.4.7 or higher (universal binary)
Windows 2000 or XP (64-bit also supported)

The driver download page lists this as well-
Printer Driver v3.5cE
Macintosh OS X (v10.3.9 or later), Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 or later)
epson12066.dmg - 18.5MB - posted on 11/21/06

So PPC machines are supported. The Intel OSX must have begun with OSX10.4.4, and as mentioned in the above post, universal binary means both PPC and Intel machines. Thanks!
