How much for H2 +P25
« on: November 20, 2006, 12:20:49 pm »

Hello !

I saw an offer here in Austria for an used H2 complete with film back and 80 mm lens + a P25 digital back. What would be a fair price ?

Any suggestions what I should look at when I test the camera and the digital back ?

Thanks !

£10,000 for H1/2 kit and P25 in good working condition (<40,000 frames). If the P25 works it is probably fine. There are no moving parts! The only risk is if it has come in contact with salt water. The P25 will let you know how many shots it has taken although this doesn't really matter. The H2 will do the same by using the menu's. If the camera has done more than 100,000 + frames it is well used and likely to need a service.

I hope this helps,

Damien.

Anywhere from $12,000 to $18,000 US, depending on wear and tear

Check the back count, but this isn't that important.

Check the body count and software in the camera body.  If it is an older software you have to get it updated so it will work with newer lenses.

Best of luck with it and that seems like a GREAT deal if you can get it for around $14k.

Also, gert the serial number from the back and make sure what your warranty options are with Phase and if you can extend anything.  Phase are great guys on the phone and email.

And upgrade is likely to help hold the P25 value. The P45+ is new, so for 1-2 yrs the P25 plus $$ will get a NEW top class Pxx.

That may even hold for the next generation, but at a higher difference for upgrade.
Basically as a trade, my P25 was worth 18,000, so anything under that for the combo would bea GREAT price.
