Eric,

did you make a test side by side, the eMotion22 at 25 ISO and the Aptus at 25 ISO as well? If yes, then you will see that the Aptus is at least 1 (ONE) full stop under compared to the eMotion 22. Same for all other ISO settings, same for Aptus 75 and eMotion 75.

Tomas did not seem interested in a comparison of the two brands.  My point was that buying the 33mp Dalsa sensor instead of the 22mp sensor would get you 1 stop more light at basically the same noise levels.  If your'e working with a MFDB that has a 32 second maximum exposure time and shooting dim interiors, this is pretty important.

There was new firmware for e22 and e75 version 4.42 posted on the Sinar web site earlier this month.  The readme refers to changes in the user interface, (display quality and multiple images). Maybe there are some image quality refinements there too. I haven't noticed any difference doing tethered close-up work at 25 iso, which has been keeping me busy just now.

Yes 1 stop more can be important. At the moment I´m mostly interested in Sinar and I think Aptus more or less will be in the same level, but all information is welcome!

The other (in this case) open system is Hasselblad CF with adapter plates for many cameras:
