Epson Stylus 9800
« on: November 05, 2006, 11:35:09 am »

I've just switched from a PC to a Mac Pro for Photoshop CS2. I have the CS2 for Mac and it works well. I had a geek set up my Epson Stylus 9800 on the Mac. The problem is that when I go to "Print with preview" and then go to "page set-up", I get a very primitive and alltogether different looking window on the Mac than the one I had on my PC.

What's more, I could specify many parameters like dpi, printing in both directions, and custom paper size. The window would even show the amount of remaining ink in the printer. My Mac won't do any of this. Could he have downloaded the wrong control and hooked it up?

With the epson driver on a mac, page setup is predominantly just for setting page size, when you return to PS, and click on "Print" another menu appears that has further pull downs for print settings, color management, etc., etc., etc.  You don't begin to spool until you click on "print" from that menu.   It sounds as though they installed the correct driver, if it works as described above.

Good Luck,
