For those of you using Hasselblad's lenses designed for the H series camera with an H2 in conjunction with a CFH, CF, CF-MS back or an H3D - the new version of Flexcolor (4.6.3) is available with DAC (CA correction) AND DACII (lens distortion correction).

What do you use live video for?

Just tested the new barrel distortion function and it works perfect, as simple as the touch of a button
in the texture dialogue box. This is going to safe me hours of tweaking photos in PS for barrel distortion, what a relief.

cheers

Marc,

I've been waiting awhile for the Live Video feature to be activated for the CF series backs andH2(3)D. It's extremely useful for fine tuning the focus point. Try it out. It uses an audible tone to let you know how accurate you are - the higher the pitch the closer to exactly in focus for the point chosen. The lens must be focused manually AND It's VERY sensitive as you'll see. Just try getting a high pitch!

I agree about the lens distortion correction. I use a 50-110 and a 35, and you gotta love watching that moustache distortion in 35 just go away at the click of a box, and the fact that the 50-110 is corrected at all lengths is also huge. What am I going to do with all that extra time away from PS? Break out the Guinness!

A year ago after a ton of testing, I chose Hasselblad/Imacon specifically because I anticipated these features coming from them, and they delivered in spades! I suspect more solutions combining software/lens/back dialogue will be coming.

I'll be upgrading to an H3D-39 shortly and picking up a 28.

Richard

Can't wait for the upgrade to H3D39 (for EU 1000,-) and I also will pick up the 28mm pricey lens,
Hasselblad told me they are starting this in january so it will probably be february-march.

Somehow I feel I lucked out by choosing this route, after an initial great deal, the 50-110 was thrown in for free and now everything distortion free. I have a feeling Hasselblad is going to kill it in the architectural/interior field with these tools. In the last month I have not been shooting that much straight-on arch-interior, just to avaid the moustache problem. I can go back to my straight on shoots again, hassle free!

Will try out the live video

cheers
