Adobe Camera Raw updates...
« on: October 31, 2006, 08:58:25 pm »

When Adobe updates ACR, are there tweaks to older cameras -- profiles, algorithms, etc?  Or just added support for new cameras?

I have a "old" Canon 10D and an "old" Olympus C-5050.  Is there any advantage in re-converting these raw files in ACR 3.6 vs. any prior version?

Would be an excellent question for the experts monitoring the ACR user-to-user forum:

On top of that, just develop a RAW file with the older version of ACR and then do it again with the new version (using same settings - of course) and then check in Photoshop using difference calcualtion to see if the two resulting files are different.

Thanks.  I've also posted in the Adobe forum, as suggested.

It's obviously not a big deal since the updates are free, but I don't recall ever seeing anything specific in the updates other than new camera support.
