Manual Flash on Canon 20D
« on: October 27, 2006, 08:59:10 pm »

HI,
I have finally bought my first dSLR and I feel like an idiot that I can't find any info in the instruction manual about how to manually use the flash or shut the auto off?

I feel like such an idiot but can someone help me?
thanks Susanna

The built-in flash doesn't have a manual mode.  With external flashes, it is set on the flash unit.

If you mean you don't want it popping up automatically, then you have to use the modes that don't pop it up unless you pop it up manually, like ADep, M, Av, Tv, P, and the "no-flash" mode.

I have a 20D. The info I think that you are looking for is on pages 92 and 93 of the manual.
