Epson 4000 Paper Feed Problem
« on: October 24, 2006, 08:04:49 pm »

Hi,

I am having problems feeding thick matte paper (300 weight Moab Entrada) from the paper tray on my Epson 4000.  The printer takes the paper sheets and just passes them through the printer without printing on them.

I seem to remember this being discussed in the past, but I couldn't find anything in the forums.

Help is greatly appreciated as I have a show to print and frame!

Thanks,

-Dave

The 4000 does that, frustratingly not consistently.
It seems better if there are a few sheets in the tray.
A better solution is to feed the sheet in from the top rear of the printer.
Make sure you select Manual Feed  under Print Settings in the Print  dialogue box

You can't! For a thick paper stock you need to use the manual feed option.

In my experience manual feed through the front, rather than through the top, results in fewer misalignments/error messages.

Yes, I did put a few sheets in the tray and it does seem better.  If  I run into more problems, I'll try the back feed.

Thanks Gang!

Kirk,
Good point.
It's awkward though if the printer is backed up to a wall
Cheers
