Hi everyone,

I'm having a issue with a new media i'm trying. I really have troubles understanding what is happening.

Recently i bought a new canvas media to try it out. It is beatifull, but i'm running in to issues i don't understand.

I'm running on a epson 11880.

The thing, the printer doesn't print the correct size.

If i submit a image to the printer (trough onyxRIP) it doesn't give me the correct size.

Example:
Original image size: 100x100cm.
Print result: 102x100

For some reason the printer 'stretches' the image. I have never had this before.

It just came to my mind i should try printing it with photoshop, to see if the problem is within OnyxRip or the printer/media.

Anyone ideas or familiar with this issue?

Thanks and best regards

The only time I saw my Epson P800 stretch images was in the borderless mode.

The printer just prints what it's told to print - it doesn't do any stretching etc.  Definitely try it from PS rather than Onyx.  Also, check your page size setup.

This is a long shot, since I don't believe it would have any bearing on the actual printed image size.  Make sure you have "Paper Size Check" turned on in the Printer Setup menu.  I'm now running a P7000, so I'm not sure that's the correct menu in which to find that setting on the 11880, but it's close.  Can't hurt to check it at least, and turn it on if it is presently off.  For one thing, you will waste about a foot of roll paper/canvas if that setting is turned off.

This may not be the solution, but: experiment with media types.

If you are using, for example, 'Velvet Fine Art' as the chosen media type then try 'Canvas Matte' or one of the other canvasses as the media type. Adjust 'Paper Thickness' to a setting appropriate to your media before printing.

By changing media type you are changing ink load too, so settle on a media type that works for both feed accuracy and ink load before profiling.

Hi all,

I fixed the issue.  :D

I used the "Scale Adjust option".

It prints dimensions which you can measure after the print is complete.

Onyx compares the true measurements with the digital measurements and Scales.

However, i still don't understand why this was needed. 1cm is 1cm. Anyway, i'm happy it is solved now.

Thanks for the reply's.
