Nikon P1000 with a 3000mm lens
« on: July 10, 2018, 02:18:57 pm »

Interesting bridge camera with up to 3000mm equivalent zoom. Small sensor (1/2.3"), and possibly soft at the extreme long end (the previous model P900 was soft at its long end of 2000mm), but it could be a worthwhile competitor to Sony RX10. Other features include 4K video, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, and RAW photos. Available in September 2018.

That may be the rumored Nikon mirrorless camera.  ;D

At least nobody should be able to write that Nikon isn’t trying to push the enveloppe. 😜

Cheers,

3000 mm equivalent - This might be the planet imager for beginners, if the Nikon RAW format used for it is interpretable by the specialized programs for processing planetary video clips. (the point of processing 100 or so video frames into a single final image is to deal with atmospheric distortion of the image in individual frames).
