Fair Use Decision

There seems to be a lot of moving parts in this one but it's sure to provoke a lot of discussion.

I saw this a week ago, and can say I am more then just displeased.  It should have been an open and shut case for the photographer.  What a screw up on the part of the judge.

As if it's not time consuming enough chasing unauthorised use.

It's not surprising that the photography websites have picked up this story, but I don't think there is anything in this rather obscure lawsuit for anyone to be concerned about.  See my earlier comments on this case here.

The US Postal Services has to pay $3.5 million for unauthorized use of a photo they used in their stamps of the Statue of Liberty.  $3.5 million!!!   I wish they'd steal one of mine.

I've paid copyright fees now and then and it was never so much asked that I thought they didn't deserve it. It can be frustrating when you want to pay and can't find anyone to ask.
