Wow great image, I have been watching UTUBE of the area and would love to go there in OCT.
thanks for posting.
Hi BAB,
Yes the best times to be here on the IoS for photography, is any time from the middle of October through to the beginning of March, no tourists or camper vans on the island by then (or anybody else really) and no midges or flying bitey things.
Best times for autumn colour is the last week in Oct and the first in Nov - Glen Coe area best for colour at the end of Oct, IoS best for colour at the beginning of Nov.
I would also advise that when you come here, that after touring the Island, that you also book yourself and your vehicle onto the ferry from Uig at the North of the IoS and then take a few days on the Outer Hebrides and also head towards the standing stones on Lewis etc.
I like the light on the stones.
Thanks, and I am so glad you noticed these little touches, as I shot this scene to specifically show the warm light casting across the pebbles and rocks in the foreground at a low angle.
Wow, what a beautiful shot. Everything is "right" in the frame (light, sky, clouds, rocks).
Well what can I say Francios, with praise like that, I am speechless...
Nice catch.
Thanks Eric.
In fact thanks everyone who took the time to comment, it is much appreciated
Dave
