Eider-mania in Alaska
« on: June 29, 2018, 09:16:06 am »

Eiders are such cool ducks don't you think??

Last week I photographed the King, Spectacled and Steller's up in Alaska. I figured I'd add in a shot of the Common from a previous trip to Churchill to complete the quartet.

Cheers!

Glenn

Beauties, all.
The only one I've met personally is the Common. King is clearly aptly named.

In Iceland we saw rafts of literally thousands of eiders swimming along the coast.

Love these! We don't get much in the way of colorful ducks, so seeing these in such great detail makes it even more special.
