Just some scenes, I guess.
« on: June 23, 2018, 02:44:50 am »

A couple of years back my wife and I, along with some friends, took a trip across the Salar de Uyuni, amongst the Andes in Bolivia.

Here are my interpretations of the scenes that I encountered during my journey...

Vast and unforgiving; if one finds oneself lost and alone there..

Not unlike the desert I come from. Except for the altitude.

Dramatic, particularly the second.

Not the "usual" photos one sees from this location. Dark interpretation indeed. But one can get the feeling of the place.

Jeremy, farbschlurf..thanks for the comments.

More than what I saw, it was how I  ' felt ' is  what I tried to convey in these scenes..

I like 'em. Dark tones for a harsh and yet beautiful locale.

When visiting India we kept on meeting a couple from the UK - as we were - and they were amazingly well travelled. We asked which country had they enjoyed the most and to my surprise they said Bolivia and these photographs reinforce the reasons they gave. They also said it could seriously cold at night :)

Beautiful photos! Looks like my kind of place.

I'd love to do a ski mountaineering trip to Bolivia. Maybe one day...
