Try logging into your Creative Cloud account. Should find everything there.

No it is not there.
Found out why too. My 2008 Mac Pro is still on OS 10.10.5 and 10.12 is needed for classic.
Just doing a little checking and see I cannot go past 10.11.1 to 10.12 until I get 10.11 and it is a tough find.

You only need OS X 10.11 to run Classic.  We tend to support 3 OS X versions simultaneously, dropping the oldest version as new versions arrive.  Right now the support list is 10.11, 10.12 and 10.13.

To expand: If your OS isn't supported for a software version, the Creative Cloud App should prevent your seeing it. That is likely what is happening here.

You should consider calling or emailing Apple Support and requesting a link to download El Capitan (10.11) or Sierra (10.12) since it is not showing up for you in the App Store.  Of note, the macOS 10.13 High Sierra is not compatible with the computer you listed.

I have read where other users employed this avenue to fill gaps in compatibility.

Thanks to all.
My computer store has os10.11. They are going to take me up to 10.11.6 which is as high as I can go with a 2008 Mac Pro.
It is a shame this is soon going to be obsolete due to not being able to upgrade the os. What a great system it has been for the last 10 years.

Upgraded to 10.11.6 and now have Classic.
As high as the OS can be upgraded with a 2008 Mac Pro.
Soon time to start looking at new machines.

I have the same computer; very nice indeed. very stable over 10 years time...
With a third party patch you can use 10.12 Sierra and i like that system. The only not supported thing is the WIFI in your machine.
Too bad good hardware is wasted because of  lack of software support.

I’ll admit it’s “good” hardware in the perspective of a 10 year old computer remaining functional and useful despite it’s age.  But to me it’s no longer good hardware, it’s really old hardware. When he bought it, the machine probably came with OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) which will shortly be 8 OS upgrades from current Macs.  In 2008 we were upgrading to Lightroom 2, since then there have been 5 upgrades. To me it’s pretty impressive the thing still runs as well as it does.

Dan is trying to upgrade to a newer version of software on a 10 year old machine that has reached the limit on how far the OS can be upgraded. He could have remained with the current version, probably until the machine died.

How long should vendors and hardware designers be expected to support outdated hardware/operating systems?  As he found, his 10 year old machine is still supported and he is now running classic, and will be until Adobe drops support for Mac OS 10.11.  To me when that happens (next month or 2 years from now) he’s gotten a lot of life out his Mac.

At this point even if Adobe drops support in Lightroom Classic 2019 or whatever they’re going to call it, everything should run just fine as long as he wants to.

It's the principal advantage that Windows offers.  Many legacy programs from XP (introduced in 2001) will run on Windows 8.1 (I have a few of these) which is what I run on my work station.
