I don't worry about nylon abrading and suddenly giving way. You can see wear on nylon strapping loooong before the strap is compromised. I am an OpTech fan, no problems with either the stretchy neoprene or the nylon or the hardware. These Benz straps are nice looking, though.

I also use the OpTech neoprene straps. I like how I can quickly unclip them when working from a tripod so they don't blow in the breeze. Then, I tend to misplace them so being cheap is nice too. I have a bunch scattered around my bags and regularly recover them from the washing machine as well.
Not very stylish but neither am I.

Does one actually pay that much for a strap and feel they got their money's worth?
