when I decided to turn pro some 14 years ago I trested myself to a Canon 1Ds, the zoom trilogy and I wanted a 90 tse lens. the nice salesperson at Jessops London told me to hold off on this one for a couple of weeks, because a successor is just around the corner. I did, but stumbled upon a great desl a few days later for a used one, which I bought.
for the next ten years about 80% of my income was generated wirh this lens, although I was never really happy with it. I am shooting mostly food and three things always bugged me:
1. close focus range is meager, with extension rings ther was always a gap in the range
2. close focus quality is mediocre
3. tilt and shift are fixed to 90° or on the same axis
I bought every other TS lens out there, Hartblei, Zörk, Mirex, whatever, adapted a Linhof 679 and in the ladt three years used a cambo Actus. But especially out of my studio I kept using my tse.
Yesterday I received my new 90 TSE L, I shot a job with it today on my Fuji GFX with a steelsring adapter and it works superb, sharpness, contrast, close performance, handling, all just great!
what a lovely addition to my arsenal! Highly recommended!
