Review confusion
« on: October 08, 2006, 06:44:09 pm »

The review posted here:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/luster.shtml

MR says first:

"there hasn't been a high-quality paper available that did justice to this capability. Now there is — Premium Luster Photo Paper. "

then says:

"PLPP is very similar to Epson's new Premium Semi-Gloss. It is of similar thickness and weight and like Semigloss it has an RC base. While it looks similar, it prints somewhat differently. It seems a bit "shinier" and to have a bit more "tooth" or texture. Neither characteristic is really objectionable but I prefer the look of Semigloss. "

I don;t understand is he saying he DOES prefer thePremium semi gloss or the Luster?

Or somethign else altogether

That article is a little old as you can see by the printers Michael was using. With the new inks and papers we have today, it really does not make much sense to go by what he said in the article. Unless you are using one of those printers.

Premium Luster Photopaper has become the standard for photo printing. It does yield a better DMax over Semi Gloss and now Epson has just revised Premium Luster to a new heavier weight paper.

The best thing you can do is run your own test to determine what works better
