A quick question about camera

I have a 5DMKII and a 1DSMKIII. I plan on leaving one of them doing long exposures/time lapses, while a do faster hand shooting with the other one. Any suggestions which camera I should use for these tasks?

I would say that the important question is "will you have enough battery for your time lapse?" Do a test run time lapse with both cameras.
