FS: Tether Tools Case Relay Power System for Nikon $120
« on: May 03, 2018, 08:45:51 am »

This kit is a neat and easy way to have your Nikon (with an EN-EL15 Battery or other) to operate all day off ANY 5v source - a Li0 battery pack, a laptop, a car 5V port, an Apple 5V phone charger, etc.

The system works like a treat and enables LONG tethering & long-exposure or lightning/sound camera trap setups or video recording. It also enables has hot-swap battery ability (see below).  If you need an 'extension cord', grab any cheap USB 2/3 extension.

Also great for cold / crappy weather when you don't want the battery killed by the temp, or want to rummage around in the $%^& rain or heavy dust swapping batteries. Slide a 5V battery in your coat or bag, run the cable out and Bob's your Aunt.  Also a great way to have an emerg battery on location - someone always has a 5V phone LiO dongle or charger on hand. The imagination runs wild. ;>

The unit can be used with any camera requiring a 7.2-7.5v supply simplifying by buying a different $35 faux battery for that camera.

How it works:
----------------
The TT unit has a small Nikon-compatible quick-recharge battery in it. This unit feeds power to the camera via the Nikon LiO battery tray (see later) as the 5V external supply continually charges the Tether Tools unit.  Ideally the 5v source is rated for 2A or higher, but it will work off lower amp rated units at a slower pace

This 'two batteries in the chain' enables you to change the external battery w/o losing power to the camera. The TT unit maintains power to the body, exposure continuing, while you swap external batteries. No timing battery life vs. desired exposure or swearing at your tether software because it no longer sees a camera.

Price includes shipping by normal post Canada Post in NA. Offshore pays difference. Payment by EMT in Canada or via PP (add 3.5%).
