This is one of the very best competitions I've been in. It involves almost a week of shooting on private estates and nature conserves, significant prize money, the exhibition of all of your work and print sales.
The Plein Air Brandywine Valley competition is accepting applications for its 2018 event. It is open to both painters and photographers, with equal prizes for each (up to $2,000 for a first place) and exhibition of all work at the Winterthur Museum. The competition benefits the Children's Beach House of Delaware. The charity gets 40% of any sales, but you retain all rights to your work. Only 25 photographers are accepted, so competition is keen.
I've competed for four years, winning a couple of times and having lots of fun each time.
