Anyone suffering with the Surface Pro 4 Flickering screen?
« on: March 06, 2018, 03:41:03 am »

I got a surface Pro 4 which has been perfect going around visiting clients.
Recently the screen has started to keep flickering and then corrects itself before then flickering again.
I have now read I am not alone.. With reports all over the web with users complaining of the same problem.
I have only had mine for around 9 months so presuming I only have a standard 1 year warranty here in the UK then hopefully I shall be covered.
Has anyone else had this issue and how did you get this resolved, If you got a replacement do you still have the same issue?
Here is just 1 news article I found this month reporting it.

Honestly, try a system restore back as far as you can go - or try booting into safe mode.  Microsoft can't seem to write software for it's own devices, and it's s**t the bed numerous times. I spent yesterday fixing a Surface Pro 4 that couldn't load the driver for the Surface Smart Cover keyboard.  A whole system reset back to factory defaults may also fix it, and then prevent it from updating drivers ;)

Yes, as someone who makes their living off fixing Microsoft's broken 'ish, I refuse to purchase any hardware they make.

Interesting, I was not aware of the issue and after reading through some of the online material, it seems like a real issue and possibly some sort of a cooling issue.  Mine has been plugging along for about a year with no problems - knocking on wood and crossing fingers.

Thanks Joe, unfortunately this is more of an hardware issue than Software / OS

Yes it is worrying, Most of the customers are reporting the issue just after the first year which screws you over.
I got mine from Amazon, and so I have just been in touch with them yesterday and they are taking it back, best thing is I get a full refund from them :)
Amazon are great at things like this. Hope yours serves you for many more years.
