Shots spacing in focus stacking of the landscape photo
« on: March 04, 2018, 06:07:10 pm »

Landscape photo is my interest and would like to know some rule of thumb if any regarding how to determine the proper numbers of shots I should make. It may be depending on the scene to be shot.

I would recommend Focus Stacker by George Douvos. It is an iOS ap.

For Android or Windows, DoF by Jonathan Sachs is also good.

Thank you. I am not sure if my lens, Batis, gives me accurate distance reading and the review says it will not allow me to change f stops.

Not sure if Lumariver DOF (a SmartPhone app) has the feature you need

I use Affinity Photo on windows and just kind of eyeball the stack, which I'm still trying to perfect.
It doesn't look quite right if I skimp and/or do not stop down enough.
The number of images required will depend on your DOF of course, so that varies.
