As always, good links Rob.
Talking about survivors stil active, P.Lindberg does not use retouchers
Nor MUA nor hair stylists!! Quite amazing nowdays in fashion!! Clients have to sign a contract that
Oblige them not to retouch anything.
He hates AD as much as I do and treat them like useless overpaied persons,
Wich I think he is completly right.
He has the name and power to impose his vision over the current stream.
That is real freedom. Impressive.

It is ironic: in my days, and because of the budgets in Scotland, nobody used either hair or makeup people unless we were working for hairdressers, which I sometimes did. Then, the client did the hair, but all the models were perfectly able to do their own face!

The only trouble came when some thought they had to put very heavy shadow at the cheekbones, but I always stopped them doing that because it was not necessary, and made them look silly in some shots because the lighting simply did not match the fake shadows.

But if you want to make the client feel he is getting value for money, then all the extras make it look cool... I always preferred to earn more for Rob than hand it out to the others!

Yeah, Peter is one of my favourite photographers, and I think the making-of videos he has are even better than some of the images!

Actually, you were the one originally to point me to the videos - I only saw his printed work before that. You also made my website a possibility. Thanks for both! And for lending a shoulder at very low times in my life.

Spot on. That's the point.
I do too like very much the videos.
In fact he works very raw. Old school shooting style using digital cameras.
Quite a winning combination.

Ps: a pleasure to have been helpfull.
