I've been enjoying the upgrade to the 4000 from my ipf-6300. One thing that has perplexed me is when using the old 6300 there was a Canon print monitor separate from the MacOs version which actually showed the print progress in real time. My printer is downstairs and my computer is located upstairs. Very nice to not have to go up and down to figure out if printing actually starts without errors and monitor finishing times too. This functionality seems to be non-existant in the newer print driver and printer utility software. The MacOs print monitor only shows the progress of the hand-off to the printer which is not all that informative.
Has anybody with one of the newer printers discovered a work around for this omission?
