A Nice APP for Those With Cluttered MAC Desktops
« on: January 30, 2018, 09:16:30 am »

I came across this APP through an email. Since I tend to run with a very sloppy desktop, it caught my interest. I have no connection to the company and am passing this along solely for those that might be interested. The price seems very fair and you can get it as a trial.

What are you implying in my cluttered, messy desktop? ;D

Looks promising, if not over-priced (for what it is).

Ya know what they say... “If a cluttered desktop means a cluttered mind, what does an empty desktop mean?”  :)

Hi guys! So far it's working out fine for me. I just keep my drive icons on the desktop now and with the "hide dock" option checked it rally lets you enjoy your wallpaper.

This could be useful. Where do the files live? Are they still in the Desktop Folder?

Thanks, Peter

There is another way...I used to have an over-crowded, meticulously maintained desktop. The decision to tidy up led me very quickly to a 100% clear desktop. It's better. Required stuff is now in an orderly state in Documents in Finder on my Macs and My Documents in the two Windows machines. Everything is more quickly searchable. Desktops are so 1990's...

Hi Peter, they live in a folder that's several layers below your user folder. Viewed in the finder it does appear a bit labyrinthine :)

I use an app called Camouflage (also available in the app store).    It hides the desktop behind my desktop picture.  To access it I just move the mouse to the hot corner for desktop in mission control.  There I can even click on an icon, drag that icon back to the corner to disable mission control, and then drop it in another location inside a normal finder window, etc. To put something on the desktop you drag it to the desktop hot corner, then drop it where you want it on the desktop.

I have learned myself that everything i put on the desktop is disposable...
so now and then i clean it completely ( and there is always a backup anyway)
