I did not unlock and re-lock the thread.  When I first replied to the thread it was not locked.  If you read the first line of the post, it was an apology to you for using poor language in responding to your post.  I'll leave it at that.

That's horse-hockey, Alan. When I got up this morning the thread was locked. I had breakfast and then went back to read the stuff on the last two pages and your post was there. You're using the terms "unlock" and "lock," but Chris made it clear that a "moderator" can post whether the thread is locked or not. You're trying to tell me you didn't notice it was locked? Uh huh.

Kevin, I think you're right. Let's get back to photography and knock off the political crap. That goes for global warming too. It's all politics.

Since when has Canon had a shutter release on the LHS?

Lefty president, hence the shutter placement.

OOOPS! Just noticed that Eric posted a better explanation :)

It seem it's high time to remove the "moderator" status from some!1

??? Do you deny Global warming is happening or is it that you don't like it being linked to our behavior?

I believe.  Where my house now sits not that long ago there was a sheet of ice nearly a mile thick.  I see the glacial moraines, "U"-shaped valleys, and shallow lakes where huge chunks of ice once rested all around here.  It's very obvious the climate has warmed and I believe that continues.

As for whether the shutter release on my camera is on the left or right, I'll go on record as saying my favorite doesn't even have a shutter.  Shutters weren't invented until ~20 years after the lens was made.

I think you'll find that bit is science. Just saying.

It's somewhat amusing that those who are most vociferous in complaining about political discussion threads in the CC are often prolific contributors themselves.

You got your wish.  I'm sending a note to Chris to remove my moderator "priviledge"  Life is too short for all the unwarranted slurs I have had to take in the past couple of days.
