2560 x1440 vs 1920 x 1200
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:27:09 pm »

Hi there,

I wanna upgrade to a professional grade monitor. Withn my budget there's the GC247x and the CG2730. I work as a photo and video artist- I want the screen for fine art printing and color grading. The CG247X would tick all boxes and would be better for editing but it is only 1920 x 1200. I already have a 2560 x 1440 monitor, I'm not sure how big of a step down it would be. Is photo editing/retouching in 2018 with 1920 x 1200 still a pleasure with all those new high pixel screens around (my macbook is even 2880 x 1800). Is it possible to work as detailed as with a high pixel screen or are you much slower?

The CG2730 is less capable (no grayscale measurements with the probe, less color presets, no validation with internal probe), though is 2560 x 1440.

Would appreciate some thoughts.

Thanks and Cheers
