Slide Presentation with Filenames
« on: December 27, 2017, 10:18:16 pm »

Hi all,

I am looking for a Mac compatible slideshow that shows the image filenames. This will be sent via Apple TV to a large screen TV.

The client can then use the image number for the order.

Sounds a simple request but there does not seem to be any option to display filenames in most presentation software.

In answer to my own question, there are a few options.

It can actually be done in Aperture. You can go into the Metadata menu and there is an option to turn on File Names and they then view at the bottom of the screen where the Keywords appear. You can then play them in View Full Screen and send to Apple TV (Update - No you can't use Apple TV. You can view them fine but you can't go forward and reverse with Apple TV. You need to use HDMI so OK if TV in same area as computer or transfer to iPad).

There are web based solutions. One is ShootProof. You set up a gallery and the client can see them on you computer or you can give a link with password.

Another is MyPhotoApp. Haven't tried this on yet as either of the first two will work for me and are free.

I haven't found a standalone application.
