The Schneider Kreuznach 75-150mm LS Zoom
« on: December 14, 2017, 06:54:45 pm »

I would like to hear of anyone's experience with the BR Schneider Kreuznach 75-150mm.  My use would it primarily for seascapes and landscapes.  Most of my photography is seascapes so I tend to use zooms to minimize changing lens.  I'm mostly shooting at f8 or f11.  I use it on the XF100.  I would appreciate any input.

It's one of my most used lenses and I absolutely love it.  Very sharp and a useful focal length range for landscape photography.  No issues whatsoever - well, it is heavy :)  It is essentially a parfocal zoom too.  I do use it with the Hejnar Photo lens stabilization kit for maximum sharpness:

the 40-80 is the most used for me, but the 75-150 is also a go to lens.  Mine is in Japan right now getting a problem with the focusing mechanism repaired so I've been using my old non LS 75-150.  Sure seems as sharp.  Might need to do some tests when my other one gets back.

Thanks Wayne.  I also use the 40-80 and have been very happy with it. From past experience, about 75% of my images are in 40-80 focal length range. I was figuring with those 2 zooms I would be pretty well covered.

At least in my copies of the Blue Ring lenses, my 75-150 is the better lens for sharpness than the 40-80.  I'm not saying that the 40-80 is bad, it isn't at all, it's just that my 75-150 is better.  My 35 BR is better too, my 28 LS, not so much :)

I must have a good copy of the 40-80 as I recently compared it to the 35BR and there wasn't much difference.

One of my jobs is lens testing and I have a lot of tools to do that so I tend to be much more critical than the average bear :)

I am considering purchasing this lens to use with my IQ3100, Is this a good lens for this back, other than the weight any negative aspect to this lens. I am trying to build a two or three lens system. I would appreciate any input.
Thanks,
