GFX with Canon EF lenses
« on: November 30, 2017, 12:55:03 pm »

So I've got the Kipon GFX-EF adapter, and my friendly local shop Glazers & I spent some time playing with it yesterday.  Needless to say - WOW - but there are some very cool glass to be had.  First up is finding where the release without lens is at - Menu - Wrench - Button/Dial settings - 'Shoot without Lens' - ON

Favorites so far are the 85mm f1.2 and the 800mm with the 2x (1600mm!!)  The MP-E at 5x is amazing - need to try an extension tube but damn, hand held with an iPhone light...

What would you like to see?  Will post RAW's as I take this second round of testing more seriously.

I have the Cambo WRE-CA adapter that allows use of Canon EF lenses on my Cambo WRS 1600. Here, the Canon 17mm TSE offers a distinctly unique and ultra wide angle of view.  I am new to the Fuji GFX50, and also could not avoid the allure of the GFX-Canon adapter---and hoping the 17mm TSE is also a winner on the Fuji GFX.  :)

Ken, I tried the Canon 17mm with the Cambo GFX adaptor in April and was blow away with the image files.  I like what I was seeing so much I almost didn't return either.  The only draw back I had was with the Cambo adaptor and not being able to read the tiny LCD screen in bright daylight.  Hopefully both the Kipon and Cambo have fixed this.  Hell, for the price of the Kipon I might even rethink even if the screen is the same...

Can you tell more about how the Canon MP-E 65 was on the gfx?
Did it fill most of the frame?

I read somewhere, but can no longer find it...how much movements can we expect with the TSE 17 and or TSE 24mm?

Thanks.

It's most the frame, and I think this is at 5x.  Will do more serious testing later this week.

With the 17mm we did full shift half tilt and still had full coverage.  Take a peak https://www.dropbox.com/s/gghsnok7ex3r38x/DSCF8913.RAF

I want to try the new T/S/M lenses - the 135mm has to make a huge image circle.  Will add to the list.

Thanks Joe.
Full shift...okay - this is pretty unique.
Back to the (thinking) drawing board.

Hi Joe, thanks for sharing! I would be very interested to see the Canon 35mm f/1.4 II at f/1.4, f/2 and f/2.8 to know how the vignetting situation is, and compare that with the new GFX 45mm wide open at f/2.8, to figure out which is the better overall combo for astrophotography. Thanks!
