Most popular places
« on: November 16, 2017, 09:16:23 am »

Germany has replaced the US as the most popular country (measuring six different branding criteria). This is the result of a study published on Thursday by the market research institute GfK and the political advisor Simon Anholt. The United States is in sixth place in the image ranking (previously it was number one). According to the study, France is the second most popular country in the world, while the United Kingdom is in third place. Canada and Japan share fourth place.

They obviously didn't take into account Horseshoe Bend which now sees 1 million visitors a day!  ;)

Not sure, Les, that the ranking has much to do with "Landscape Photography Locations"? More like Europe being much more attractive for the 21st century invasion, since swimming across the ocean stands in the way ;)

I'm sure you've got your numbers wrong, probably more like a quick Google search would provide 1.5-5 million a year. Still plenty though…

I'm surprised Australia came in at No 10. For most people it is a 20+ hour flight away and very expensive (unless you want to travel like a backpacker).

I know it's not a million visitors a day as I have photographed it numerous times. It just "feels" like there is a million other photographers surrounding you!  :)
